1978 Stephen Hershey, M.D. and William Newcomb, M.D. share an office on Shallcross Avenue practicing general orthopaedics.
1984 Brent Noyes, M.D., a general orthopaedist, joins Drs. Hershey and Newcomb on Shallcross Avenue to form Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants
1985 Michael Axe, M.D. joins Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants. Dr. Axe specializes in sports injuries.
1986 Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants relocates offices from Shallcross Avenue to the Medical Arts Pavilion at Christiana Hospital.
1987 David Sowa, M.D. joins Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants. Dr. Sowa specializes in hand and upper extremities.
1992 Robert Steele, M.D. joins Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants as a general orthopaedist.
1993 Bruce Rudin, M.D. joins Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants specializing in spine.
Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants opens Pike Creek office located on Limestone Road.
1994 Christiana Orthopaedic Surgical Associates, a partnership of John Hogan, M.D. and Leo Raisis, M.D., merges with Wilmington Orthopaedic Consultants to form First State Orthopaedics.
First State Orthopaedics opens a Middletown office location on Cleaver Farm Road.
1995 Alex Bodenstab, M.D. joins First State Orthopaedics as a general orthopaedist.
First State Orthopaedics opens a North office location in Foulkstone Plaza on Foulk Road.
1999 Bruce Katz, M.D. joins First State Orthopaedics Specializes in spine.
First State Orthopaedics closes the Pike Creek office location.
2000 Evan Crain, M.D. joins First State Orthopaedics as a general orthopaedist.
Randeep Kahlon, M.D., join First State Orthopaedics Specializes in Hand/Upper Extremity and Sports Medicine.
First State Orthopaedics opens New Castle office on Christiana Road.
First State Orthopaedics opens Harmony Plaza office location for spine care by Drs. Rudin and Katz.

2001 Physicians of First State Orthopaedics opens the First State Surgery Center at 1000 Twin “C” Lane. The Center specializes in providing outpatient orthopaedic surgery.

2003 James Moran, D.O. joins First State Orthopaedics, specializing in Pain Management and Rehabilitation.
First State Orthopaedics expands the Harmony Plaza office to provide Pain Management and Rehabilitation Services.
2004 Michael Pushkarewicz, M.D. merges his Pennsylvania orthopaedic practice with First State Orthopaedics. Specializes in general orthopaedics.
First State Orthopaedics opens Lantana office in Hockessin.
2006 Drew Brady, M.D., joins First State Orthopaedics specializing in Trauma.
First State Surgery Center celebrates its fifth anniversary.
